We're Learning + Listening: Halloween Audition

The history of Halloween stems back 2,000 years ago from an ancient Celtic festival of Samhain where people would light bonfires and dress in costume to ward off ghosts. Later on, on November 1, Pope Gregory III would commemorate that day to honor all saints, which also incorporated some of the traditions from Samhain. The evening before was Hallow’s eve and would later become the tradition who all know here in the U.S. as Halloween.

Here at Urban Sanctuary, we’re all about honoring the past, present and future with both reverence and a critical eye. This month’s resource guide will nourish your soul and impart wisdom through different perspectives and viewpoints. Enjoy!
